Hey everyone! So this is my last week at the CCM! Pretty crazy that it's already been like a month and a half! I am excited to get out into the field though, it's going to be awesome! I will find out where exactly I'm going probably this weekend, and Monday I get to email again so I will let you know where I'm off to! Tuesday we all leave and to get to my area I will be taking a train. I'm a little nervous but very excited to really get out there! I got Mark and Niki´s package this week, tell them thanks so much and I love them and all the letters! You know me, I love getting letters and packages! It was awesome!
Here's what happened this week...really not much again, sorry! The weeks here in the MTC are the same from day to day, but of course we went to proselite again Saturday! My temporary companion was Elder Anderson, and we decided to set a goal of no more than 30 seconds of dead air space haha. We were of course talking to people constantly, and it paid off great! We went to Goya, and walking around a big city while everyone is in a hurry, it's a little more difficult to get people to listen. But we ended up with 20 contacts, passed out 7 Books of Mormon, and got 2 great referrals. One man just came up to us and showed us he already had a restoration pamflet, and wanted to know more and needed a Book of Mormon. Are you kidding me? Perfect! So we talked to him a little and got his info. We also talked to an Asian woman from a place near Taiwan that spoke English. She said her husband just passed away, she and her kids are born again Christians, they are Baptist, they know God loves them and we are his children, and after we explained the Book of Mormon, she said she knew it was by God's grace and no coincidence that we met her while she was on vacation here for one week. Pretty awesome how the Lord prepares his sheep. I'm horrible at Spanish still but I love talking to people! It's fun to just approach someone and start talking. I'm excited to get out into the field!
This week a bee flew into our room. What's the deal? Last week a huge dang grasshopper and this week a stinkin bee?! Gosh it's like our room is the garden of eden filled with all types of animal life! But y'all know I'm petrified of bees so of course that went so great when one just flew at me throught the window haha! Remember at Lake Powell when i just jumped off the boat entirely?! Too bad I was on the 6th floor here or I would've been gone! Anyway it's been a good week here, things are going well, we are all just anxious to get out into the field! I love you all and will talk to you soon!
Elder Jake Smith
